24 March 2007 marked the 62nd anniversary of "Operation Varsity" The jump accross the Rhine. This was the largest Airborne Operation of WW2 and subsequently, the last Airborne Operation of the War.
The Airborne Association held a diner to commemorate this brilliant part of our Paratroopers history.
In the attendance, was mr. Roby Robinson, Vateran of D-Day, Op Varsity, Korea, and the first RSM of 2 CDO in 1968. A marvellous warrior !
I am seen on this picture, with mr Robinson, holding a framed print of "OP Varsity"
There were only 150 copies signed and only a very few are still available, through Bill Dickson in Edmonton or Joe Drouin in Ottawa.
